這支城市藍調音樂四人組有Beyonce Knowles（1981年9月4日出生於美國德克薩斯州休斯頓）、
leToya Luckett（1981年3月11日出生於美國德克薩斯州休斯頓）、LaTavia Roberson
（1981年11月1日出生於出生於美國德克薩斯州的休斯頓）和Kelendria Rowland
（1981年2月11日出生於美國德克薩斯州休斯頓）。
Knowles和Roberson兩人在年僅10歲的時候就開始一起唱歌。Rowland於1992年加入到這兩個人中，
Luckett也在隨後的一年加入，組成了如今的四人演唱組。這個四人組合的名稱是從《聖經》是得到啟迪，
取自《以賽亞書》的一個章節。Knowles的父親是她們的經理，是他逐步把這幾個人推向了成功。
她們以一種極佳的街頭形象和給人印象深刻的協調的嗓音在當地吸引了一大批追Destiny's Child

隨者，為他們的成名奠定了基礎。1997年她們與哥倫比亞唱片公司簽約，她們演唱的《Killing Time》
在電影《The Men In Black》中出現使她們名聲大振。
1998年，她們推出了首張以自己名字命名的專輯，這張唱片是與主要的藍調音樂和希普霍普音樂製片人
Timbaland、R. Kelly、Wyclef Jean和Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliott合作完成的。一曲感人肺腑的
《No No No》在美國和英國都登上了排行榜的前10名，緊接著她們又推出了《With Me》和《Get On The Bus》
都獲得了成功，後者取自電影《Why Do Fools Fall In Love?》中的配樂。歌曲《Bills,Bills,Bills》
在電影《The Writing's On The Wall》中首次播出，這首歌的感傷情調與當年夏天TLC最熱門的
《No Scrubs》相呼應，甚至這兩支歌的製作人都一樣（都是Kevin She'kSpere Briggs）。
她們靠這首歌登上了1999年7月份美國歌曲排行榜的榜首，也同時打進了英國排行榜的前10名。
這張唱片體現了這個四人組更大的創造性，儘管她們也依賴於一個重量級的製作組，包括Rodney Jerkins，
、Missy Elliott、Chad Elliot、和Dwayne Wiggins。
2000年2月，Farrah Franklin和Michelle Williams加入這個演唱組接替離去的Roberson和Luckett。
一個月後，她們以一首《Say My Name》排上了美國熱門歌曲100首的首位。
儘管這個組合不斷地經歷著人員的變動--Franklin在8月份也離開了，
但她們的《Jumpin,Jumpin》和《Independent Women,Pt. 1》卻繼續在大西洋兩岸獲得成功，
後者取自於電影《霹靂嬌娃》（Charlie's Angels），這首歌在英美兩個國家都登上了排行榜的首位。

心得： 天命貞女這女團，名聲很響亮，小時候就開始聽她們的歌。只是，時代久遠，要不是因為板大熱心分享，說真的，已經把這女團忘記了。腦子裡，反而是辣妹合唱團比較有印象。非常感謝您的無私分享，這下可以好好回憶一下。
